     BASCO's Hazardous Area Drum Heater is ATEX and IECEx Certified for Zone 1 and Zone 2 use in flammable and explosive areas equal to Class 1 Division 1 and Class 1 Division 2 environments in the USA. Constructed with custom elastomer and silicone coated glass cloth materials and high density fiberglass insulation. The heating medium uses a patented technology of positive temperature coefficient membranes. Safe operating conditions are maintained even in the presence of potentially explosive gases. Maximum temperatures up to 176° F (80° C) can be achieved when supplied with 240V. No transformers are required. If using for freeze protection applications, a maximum temperature of 104° F (40° C) can be achieved when supplied with 110V. Power cord supplied open ended to facilitate plant wiring. Use on plastic or steel drums. powerblanket® heaters come ready to use. Just unroll, wrap around your container, and plug into any 120V outlet. Supplied with adjustable straps to ensure proper fit on containers that vary slightly in size.

Rapid Ramp Heater (RR) doubles the watt density to quickly heat up to a maximum temperature of 100° F then automatically backs down to one-half power to maintain temperature. This automatic function is all internal and preset. In an indoor environment with an ambient temperature of 70° F, heater PBL55-RR will heat a 55 gallon plastic drum filled with 70° F water to 100° F in 5.5 hours. It would take two to three band heaters to equal the heating power of one powerblanket® heater. Rapid Ramp Heaters do not have an adjustable thermostat.

Pro Heater (PRO) includes an in-line thermostat with heat probe for measuring the temperature of the liquid in the container. The thermostat is fully adjustable with a temperature range from -23° F to 160° F maximum temperature.

     Thermosafe Induction Drum Heater is a super-efficient drum heater that never makes contact with the drum and provides fast uniform heating. Copper induction coil housed inside a heavy duty fiberglass shell transfers energy directly to the drum 50% more efficiently than band heaters or bankets. Typical temperature rise: 25° F per hour. The heater is open on both the top and bottom, and is simply lowered over the drum, or the drum can be lowered into the heater. Easy-to-clean, corrosion-proof and maintenance free will keep performing for years. Operates on 240 volt AC, 2250 watts total. Self-limiting drum wall temperature means additional controls are not normally required. Two wire leads, no plug.

Optional Powerlink Energy Regulator can be used where slower heating rates and limits are required.

Optional Rigid Hat or Soft Hat is used to keep heat from escaping and, therefore, reducing the time it takes to heat the drum.

Faratherm Induction Base Heater can be used in conjuction with the Thermosafe induction steel drum heater to reduce the heating time required to melt product when connected to a 240V outlet to produce a max. temp. of 253° F.* It is important to note that the Faratherm makes contact with the container placed on it and its painted metal heating plate gets hot. The Faratherm may also be used independently with any isze steel, plastic, stainless steel, or cardboard container up to 24" dia. but lower temperatures are necessary for heating plastic or cardboard and the Faratherm must be wired for 120V to produce a max. temp. of 127° F. Power consumption is 7A/500W at 240V. Two wire leads, No plug.

AGM and TRX Thermostat Control with Three-Heat Switch designed for use on steel drums and pails with materials with good heat receptivity. Thermostat bulb senses temperature in an area distant from the heating elements. Three-heat switch allows three wattage ranges per thermostat setting. AGM heaters operate on 120 volts, up to 1750 watts, with standard 3-prong plug. TRX heaters operate on 120 or 240 volts, up to 1920 watts, with NEMA plug. For steel drums and pails only, that do not contain a removable plastic liner.

SRX Infinite (Variable) Control with Three-Heat Switch designed for use on steel drums and pails with materials that are subject to charring, burning or separation, such as food, chocolate, honey, light oils, and undercoating materials. These heaters do not have a thermostat and will not automatically reach and hold a given temperature. The function of the infinite control is to cycle a current on and off into your material. This provides a gentle warming action to the material that is being heated. Infinite control operates within each of three wattage ranges for closer heat control. For steel drums and pails only, that do not contain a removable plastic liner.

LIM Pre-Set (Non-adjustable) Thermostat designed for heating materials in high density polyethylene drums and pails. Thermostat is factory set; will not exceed the maximum plastic-safe temperature of 165° F recommended by many plastic drum manufacturers. Simple on-off power control.

For indoor use only. Units are not moisture-proof or explosion-proof. Not for use with flammables or near a flammable area.

AGM, TRX and SRX series are not for use with plastic drums and pails or drums and pails that contain a removable plastic liner.

Vulcanized 3-layer silicone rubber construction is reinforced with fiberglass, making it tough, long lasting, and resistant to a wide range of chemicals. Non-stick silicone rubber surface is easy to clean. 120 volt models are supplied with 6’ cord with standard three-pronged plug. 240 volt models have a 6’ cord without plug. When not in use, the heater can be rolled for convenient storage. Use one heater on the lower third of the drum or pail or attach more heaters to the container to increase wattage and speed up the heating process.

SDH Series Heaters are not for use with plastic drums and pails or drums and pails that contain a removable plastic liner.

“Cold riser" design concentrates heat at the bottom of the drum. Powerful 5000 watt drum heater has built-in thermostat that controls temperature between 70º F and 250º F.  A minimum liquid level of 10" above the bottom heating coil is required. Risers are 36" high with a 19” diameter heating coil.

Supplied without a cord or plug and must be wired according to local electrical code. Operating instructions and a wiring diagram are included with each heater. This heater is for use with water-based solutions and must not be used with flammable or oil based liquids.

Puts the heat right into the product!

Immersion heaters put the heat right into the liquid for the most efficient heating. Only 4" of riser is heated, allowing liquid level to fluctuate without damaging the heater. Fits through 2" bung opening in steel 55 gallon drums. Adjustable mounting bracket positions the heater away from the drum wall and above sludge buildup at the bottom of the drum. Pilot light indicates whether heater is cycled on or off. All heaters are single-phase and have NEMA 1 control housings.

No cord or plug is provided - consult your local electric code for the proper wiring techniques for the environment in which the heater will be used. Operating instructions and a wiring diagram are included with each heater.

Drum heater and pail heater Hot Boxes are steam or electrically heated which facilitate the heating and melting of various materials in one, two, or four 55-gallon drums or different size pails. Ideal for safely warming honey

Primarily designed for use with plastic pails, this 5 gallon aluminized steel pail heater is factory engineered to maintain a constant heater band temperature of 165° F while in contact with a full pail.  Fits plastic or metal pails, tapered and straight sided pails 9 1/2" to 12" in diameter. 3 1/4" wide band for better heat dissipation. EPA Regulations require the user to ensure that the waste material being reduced will not release toxic material into the atmosphere.

Puts ALL the heat into the drum - and helps keep it there!

Most efficient method of temperature elevation, freeze protection and viscosity control of non-hazardous materials. Wrap-around blanket is filled with 1” thick high density fiberglass with VELCRO^® closure for quick installation and has a silicone-impregnated surface to resist most chemicals and moisture. Blanket is 33-3/4" tall, fits 22-1/2" diameter 55 gallon drums.

Drum Heater has a built-in digital thermostat and 6' cord. 240V heaters are not supplied with a plug. Heating elements are located in the lower third of the blanket to avoid overheating of partially filled drums.

Insulating Drum Blanket does not have built-in heating elements; can be used over any silicone rubber heater. Withstands up to 500º F.

Heater/Cooler units have embossed channels for steam, hot or cold water, or refrigerant*, All welded 18/16 gauge carbon steel construction with smooth inner panel for efficient heat transfer. Features quick acting toggle clamp for easy installation and removal and an insulated handle for safe handling. A single section unit will heat a 55 gallon steel closed drum from 60° F to 160° F in 4 hours using 150 psig steam.  1/2" IPS (iron pipe size) female inlet and outlet pipe couplings. Multi-section units are supplied already piped together.

Hinged-Back Style has a continuous hinge at the back of the unit for easy installation and removal.

Slip-Over Style has a continuous jacket that is designed to slip over the top of a container. Expandable opening at one end has a toggle style clamp to secure the unit in place.

Drum Cradle Style is available in carbon steel only. It has a heavy steel pipe frame and three half sections of heating/cooling channels. Cradle unit will heat a closed, properly ventilated 55 gallon steel drum of water from 60° F to 160° F in approximately 2 1/2 hours using 150 psig steam. The cradle unit is equipped with a 3/4" MPT (male pipe thread) inlet and outlet.

Immersion Style is designed to come in contact with the liquid it is to heat or cool by placing it directly into a 55 gallon drum. 3/4" MPT connections standard on units without hoses. Maximum operating steam pressure without the use of hoses is 250 psig and with 3/4" I.D. x 42" steam hoses, 200 psig working pressure at 380° F. Not available with painted finish.

Hoses, if included, are steam hoses made of rubber with wire braid reinforcement.

Carbon Steel Models have a light coating of oil on the exterior surface to help prevent rust.

Painted Carbon Steel Models have a royal blue exterior, baked on, painted finish for more substantial rust prevention.

Stainless Steel Models are made of stainless steel platecoil.
