2023 - 2021


June 2023: BASCO acquires Kaplan Container out of Rochester, NY. Both BASCO and Kaplan Container are family-owned businesses with the same company culture: immediate and personal attention to customer needs, dependable product quality, and consistently superior service. With our shared values and aligned goals, we're proud to welcome Kaplan Container to the BASCO family, and excited to see the new advancements that we'll make together.


May 2023: BASCO acquires Discount Vials out of Windsor, WI. Both BASCO and Kaplan Container are family-owned businesses with the same company culture: immediate and personal attention to customer needs, dependable product quality, and consistently superior service. Kaplan Container is a welcome addition to the BASCO family. 


September 2022: BASCO opens a new warehouse in Dallas, TX. BASCO has been supplying the nation with containers and container accessories for over 75 years, and our mission has been to make that supply more convenient, more efficient, and faster to access for each and every one of our customers. Our customers in the southern states will now be able to get their orders faster and easier with our new Dallas location.


May 2022: With a slight delay, BASCO hosted a party for our 75th anniversary a bit late but fun was had by all. A company is nothing without its employees, and we can proudly say that we have some of the hardest working, most intelligent people working side by side every day. We threw a fantastic party where everyone gathered together to celebrate 75 year and toast to another sucessful 75 years in the future. 


2021: BASCO celebrates 75 years in business! We've grown into much more that just a gasket distributor. We've got thousands of items, a few more branches, and tons of great employees that are keeping BASCO stronger that ever. 



2020


NOV 2020: BASCO acquires Youngstown Barrel and Drum out of Youngstown, OH. A mutually beneficial opportunity, YBD customers and prospects are introduced to BASCO’s similar yet much larger product lines which offer them an easy and convenient single source for all their industrial packaging needs.


May 2020: BASCO moves to a new warehouse with over 3.8 million cubic feet of storage capacity for expanded inventory. The building’s 15 dock doors and expanded trailer parking has maximized packing and shipping so you can get your orders faster.


FEB 2020: BASCO acquired Jar Store! With the glassware business having an equally well-established, successful e-commerce website and consumer following, its product line helped offer glass containers to customers at competitive pricing.



2019


DEC 2019: BASCO gets a new face with updated logo and branding.


JUN 2019: Sun West Container moves down the road to 3918B W Washington St, Phoenix, AZ boasting a larger 54,000 sq. ft warehouse to accommodate more product allowing shortened lead times for high demand products.


FEB 2019: BASCO launches a new and improved website on a fresh content management system boosting the customer shopping experience. Enhanced site search, personalized email messaging sign-up, and insightful blogs, are just a few of the upgrades that make your online ordering process that much easier.



2018 - 2001


2018: Headquarters Expands. Two additional warehouses were
opened at the University Park location to accommodate product influx.


2016: INSCO Joins the BASCO Family. BASCO makes another purchase, this time in Indianapolis, IN. 


2015: Expanding West. BASCO purchases Sun West Container in Phoenix, AZ expanding product line and customer reach. A store in AZ means lower shipping costs for west coast customers.


2010-2014: BASCO continues warehouse expansion
and upgrades systems.

 

2001: Print Focus. BASCO takes a focus on full color catalogs
and ads in trade magazines.



2000 - 1991


2000: Stretching Out. Only 10 years after building the new location, BASCO needed more room. Additions to the office space and warehouse were constructed.


1999: BASCO launches its first website offering customers
the opportunity to order products online.

 

1997: Multi State. BASCO begins to opens remote warehouses
beginning with Charlotte, NC.


1996: BASCO turns 50 and gets new logo.



1990 - 1950


1990: Movin’ on Up…to University Park! In November BASCO moves to its current home in University Park, IL 2595 Palmer Ave. BASCO publishes a 272-page catalog with featured spot color panels for new products.


1989: Richard Rudy becomes new BASCO CEO.


1977: New Company Logo and Catalog.


1977: Up, Up, and MIDway! BASCO enters 20th century
with new warehouse near Midway Airport 4647 W 47th St. 

 

1961: BASCO moves to Near Northwest side
of Chicago 2536 W North Ave.

 

1955: BASCO's first real catalog of 20 pages.

 



1949-1946


Started in a loft above a hardware store on Chicago’s near Southwest side, BASCO quickly needed more space and moved to an industrial district north of Chicago’s Union stockyards 830 W. Canalport Ave in 1949.


 July 20, 1946
CEO Henry Rudy starts BASCO with
just $500 selling gaskets to the drum industry.
